The Fuerteventura beaches in the Municipality of Betancuria are located in the middle of the west coastof the island. Betancuria covers only a small area, which is mainly mountainous, so the length of the coast is short, and access is limited.
The main beaches in Betancuria are:
The Playa de Valle is at the end of the road that goes from Valle de Santa Iñes to Agua Verdes on the coast. It is a black sand beach which is 500 metres long. At the end of the tarmac road, access is then off-road, either into the valley or along the cliff top.
To the north of Agua Verdes is the El Junquillo beach, which is very isolated and can only be reached by a 4x4 vehicle. It is 400km long and is made up of black sand.
